Reporting a bug?

Two details make a fix ten times faster:

  • 1The extension version — shown in Settings → About
  • 2The page where it happened (a link, or “a PDF” / “a local file” is enough)

You can also send feedback without leaving the extension — Settings → Send feedback. It attaches the version number for you.

Quick answers

The floating icon doesn't appear when I select text
You're probably on a restricted page — Chrome's PDF viewer, a local file, a chrome:// page, or the Web Store. Extensions can't draw on those. Select the text and use right-click → Create flashcard instead; the card opens in the side panel.
My exported Anki cards play no audio
Pronunciation uses Anki's built-in text-to-speech, which needs a voice for the accent you picked installed on the device. On mobile, AnkiDroid needs version 2.17 or newer.
Will I lose my cards if I uninstall?
Yes — cards live in your browser's local extension storage, so uninstalling removes them. Export your decks first (the Anki TSV file doubles as a backup) if you plan to reinstall.
Can you add my language?
Maybe! You can currently learn 10 languages, from 16 native languages — the pairs our card-generation quality is verified for. Tell us which pair you need — requests directly shape what we add next.
